commenced trading on the 5th October 1998 from its operational
headquarters based in Douglas, on the Isle of Man.
As the
business developed the company launched its website operation
on March 17th 2000. Since the launch of the website in March
2000, the company has become a significant and respected
player in the telephone and internet fixed odds sports betting
industry. The services are offered to customers in over 130
countries, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The company name
instantly identifies the products and services offered and
the method of delivery to consumers.
The company's strategy
remains focused on positioning betinternet.com plc as an
innovator and leading provider of e-commerce leisure betting
services.
The company was admitted to the Alternative Investment
Market (AIM) on the 9th May 2000 and acquired PLC status.

(i) by offering
attractive product propositions to the changing profile of
customers in the 20-30 age group through multiple or 'exotic'
bets; and
(ii) by acting as a facilitator between players
and hosts who are engaged in global pari-mutuel wagering.
In
this respect betinternet.com owns and operates a ‘state
of the art’ Amtote
Spectrum Superhub at its Isle Of Man Headquarters.

Burnbrae initially invested £2.5m in betinternet.com
plc in December 2001 and subsequently invested a further £1.0m
by way of equity in December 2004. In January 2005, Burnbrae
agreed to provide a term loan of £0.25m which was used
by betinternet.com to acquire a strategic stake in a games
software development company.
